Video of First Night 2010 Press Conference
Video is shot by Sarah Favot and edited with Tricia Hurley.
ATM Overdraft- Dan Burke and Mike O'Leary
The following video is about the recent Federal Reserve news regarding bank customers and overdraft fees. I provided the voiceover and did the interviews, while Mike O'Leary shot most of the footage. Thanks to the students at Boston University who were willing and able to be interviewed. Without their help, this story would not have been possible.
Women's Soccer Preview
By Scott McLaughlin and Dania Shapira
The Boston University women's soccer team takes on the University of Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA Tournament tonight at 7 p.m. at Boston College. The Terriers will be making their fifth straight appearance in the NCAAs after earning an automatic bid by winning the America East Tournament, their third straight conference title. After starting the season with a pedestrian 2-4-2 record, BU has won 12 of its last 13 games and is averaging nearly three goals per game in that span. The program is 2-7 all-time in the NCAAs, including a 1-0 overtime win against UConn in the first round of the 2005 tournament.

Friday the 13th is a day that will live in infamy for superstitious people. Black cats, ladders, broken mirrors and Freddy Krueger all conjure up fears on Friday the 13th, one of the unluckiest days of the year. Students around Boston University give their take on the special day and what you can do to avoid trouble.
First Look at First Night Button
Officials unveiled Boston's First Night 2010 button, along with a preview of the program's scheduled events, in the lobby of the Boston Park Plaza Hotel this morning.
First Night is a New Year's Eve celebration featuring arts and cultural events throughout the city of Boston. The event is billed as North America's oldest New Year's celebration and is currently in its 34th year of featuring a city-wide button that participants can purchased for admission to all events.
First Night, Inc. Executive Director Geri Guardino announced this year's First Night line-up, welcomed official First Night sponsor WBZ TV, and unveiled the artist and design of this year's First 2010 button.
About the Artist
This year's button was designed by Roxbury artist Ekua Holmes, after a First Night staff member saw her work. The button depicts the silhouettes of two African-American girls celebrating around the traditional First Night logo. The images were taken from an earlier piece by Holmes called Free to Be, which the artist says is fitting for a celebration like First Night.
"Free to Be is about enjoying a part of your childhood," said Holmes. "We bring out the childhood spirit whenever we celebrate New Year's Eve."
First Night buttons are $18 and will go on sale on November 27 at a variety of Boston-area locations, including Shaws and Star Markets, Store 24, and other locations. For a complete list of sale locations and to learn more about First Night 2010, please visit www.firstnight.org.
